In today’s post on their website, Smart Communications claim it outsmarted arch rival Globe Telecom in all five parameters of the 3rd Quarter Quality of Service (QoS) Benchmarking tests conducted by the National Telecommunication Commission in Metro Manila.

NTC is reportedly conducted 2,189 calls to test Blocked Calls or Grade of Service (GoS),  Drop Call Rate (DCR),  Average Receive Signal Level,  Average Signal Quality, and Call Set Up Time.

  1. Smart has forgot to stress they both failed in drop calls. While the minimum Drop Call Rate is set at 2%, Smart had 2.15% while Globe has 2.75%. NTC has asked for an explanation from the two telcos. If the explanation is not satisfactory, both shall be barred from accepting more subscribers. I overheard Mon Isberto of Smart saying “they will look into”.
