Sony Mobile Launches Xperia S in Cebu


(Earlier live blogged/Edited) Sony Mobile Philippines presented to the local media and bloggers the first smart phone that carries the Sony Mobile brand–Xperia S at the local launching today in Cebu City.

Also introduced during the local launching were the other NXT Generation Smart Phones of Sony Mobile: Xperia P, Xperia U, and the Xperia Sola. Along with the launching is the special exhibit of the Xperia S at the CyberZone in SM City Cebu starting today until May 2.

All NXT Generation Phones have dual-processor, Android OS, and uniques iconic design. See our previous post: Sony Mobile NXT Series (Next Generation Smart Phones). The Xperia S will have an SRP of P27,000; Xperia P–P23,000; Xperia U–P13,000; and Xperia Sola–P16,000.


Patrick Laraga, Head, Mobile Division of Sony Mobile Philippines presented some "amazing" figures about Sony brand which are relevant to the "One Sony" concept aimed at integrating Sony Mobile devices to all Sony-branded products. The figures include: 900 million Sony consumer home devices; 300 million Sony network connected devices; 1 billion viewers of Sony TV network.


At the lunch table, Patrick Laraga earlier discussed with local business reporters the "One Sony" concept which aims to integrate Sony Mobile devices to all Sony-brand products like TV, DVD players and PlayStation.


Vince dela Cruz, Product Group Manager of Sony Mobile Philippines, demonstrated to local bloggers the White Magic feature of Xperia P. White Magic is referring to the use of White pixel aside from the regular Red, Green, Blue pixels making the display more brighter.
